From Osaka to Support Education in Bontang, OGFICE Donates Rp316.5 Million Through Badak LNG

Bontang, October 6, 2026 — Support for educational advancement in the city of Bontang was once again demonstrated through the presentation of educational aid from the Osaka Gas Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (OGFICE) to college students and schoolchildren in Bontang. The event took place at the Badak LNG Multi-Purpose Building on Tuesday (October 6).

The event was a lively affair, featuring various performances by the students. These performances were part of the program and provided an opportunity for the students to showcase their creativity and talents in front of guests and invitees.

OGFICE is a foundation established by Osaka Gas, one of the LNG buyers from the Badak LNG Plant. From 1992 through 2026, OGFICE has consistently demonstrated its commitment to education in Bontang through its educational assistance program.

In 2026, through its CSR program, Badak LNG once again facilitated the distribution of educational assistance from OGFICE totaling Rp316.5 million. This assistance includes cash scholarships awarded to 145 students and college students, as well as educational equipment and support for a total of 13 recipient schools.

This year’s educational assistance was provided to several schools and universities, namely SDN 013, SDN 014, SDN 016, MI As-Sa’diyah, SMP Ar-Riyadh, SMKN 1, SMKN 2, SMKN 3, SMKN 4, SMAN 1, SMAN 2, SMAN 3, STITEK, and STTIB.

Support was also provided to schools in coastal areas, including SDN 014 Loktunggul, SDN 015 Selangan, SDN 016 Tihi-Tihi, SDN 013 Pulau Gusung, SD YPPI Teluk Kadere, SD YPPI Teluk Malahing, and MI Al Hijrah Nyerakat Kiri.

Badak LNG’s Senior Manager of Corporate Communications & Services, Busori Sunaryo, expressed his appreciation to OGFICE for its consistent support over more than three decades.

“We would like to thank OGFICE for its commitment and consistency in supporting education in the city of Bontang. OGFICE’s collaboration with Badak LNG’s CSR program, the government, and the community is very meaningful for our young students. This assistance is expected to help alleviate the burden of educational costs while motivating them to be even more enthusiastic about learning and achieving their dreams,” said Busori.

Meanwhile, OGFICE Chairman Matsui Takeshi expressed his appreciation to all parties who have assisted in the distribution of OGFICE’s educational assistance in Bontang City. “Thank you to everyone who helped distribute OGFICE’s assistance. We hope all the students will have aspirations and continue to study to achieve their best,” said Matsui.

In addition to facilitating educational assistance from OGFICE, Badak LNG also runs various educational development programs in Bontang and East Kalimantan. Some of these include BESCA (Badak Excellence Scholarship), the LNG Academy, and professional training and certification programs.

Through the continued partnership that has existed since 1992, OGFICE’s support is expected to continue benefiting students and college students in Bontang, while also contributing to collective efforts to prepare the younger generation for a better future.
