The marine around Badak LNG area is a home for various saltwater fishes. In this world, there are over thirty thousand different species of fish, and they are the most numerous vertebrates. There are many ways to catch fish, sometimes fisherman just want to catch a lot fish in a short time with less energy consumed. This kind of idea has grown into illegal fishing techniques, such as bombing and trawling. These dangerous technique could kill the new born fishes and decrease the population rapidly. Badak LNG has committed to protect these biota from every threat. The protection are needed to ensure the stability and continuity of these fishes.
Overall, the fish observed consists of 35 genera in Buoy putih, Kedindingan, and Segajah point, while the total of 1361 individuals found. White Buoy has the most genera with 32 genera, Kedindingan with 18 genera, and Segajah with 11 genera. The community structure of reef fish was found to indicate the diversity index value in moderate conditions throughout the location. The largest diversity index is at the Kedindingan followed by white Buoys and Segajah. These three observation locations have a good uniformity index criteria enough.
